Kitchen Assistant/Prep Cook - Women's Center
Qualifications:
Prefer experience in food industry, inventory management, organizational abilities; safety awareness; health dept. certified for kitchens; teaching and supervisory abilities; interpersonal skills; evangelical Christian. Must be able to lift over 50lbs & stand for long periods of time; flexible schedule with occasional weekends.
Employment Status:
20 hours a week; non-exempt; eligible for benefits and paid time off
Salary Range:
$9.00 - $12.00
Responsibilities & Duties
Kitchen and Food Oversight (90%)
- Prepare & cook meals as directed by Kitchen manager, in a timely manner (approx 50 – 100 servings).
- Serve meals as directed by the kitchen manger
- Help put food donations away in a timely manner
- Rotate stock in pantries & freezers as instructed by Kitchen Manager
- Assure health department standards are being followed and interact with health department during their inspections when necessary
- Assist Kitchen Manager & other duties assigned by Kitchen Manager
- Assist & oversee assigned volunteers (training, monitoring, evaluating, and general interaction).
- Assist with Food Bank
- Prepare evening snacks
- Compile reports and records (chapel service and clients)
Other (10%)
- Lead clients into Grace Based Accountability process
- Attend professional training and networking opportunities as directed
- Attend staff devotions, community meetings and staff meetings

Children's Program Assistant – Women and Children's Center
Qualifications: Prefer personal spiritual maturity, Biblical knowledge and application, and/or Biblical training; experience with caring for and/or teaching children; minimum high school or GED; ability to communicate effectively and maintain program structure and boundaries; apply age appropriate discipline; patience, gentleness and kindness; able to explain the Gospel and salvation to children; evangelical Christian.
Employment Status: Full Time non-exempt, eligible for benefits and paid time off
Salary Range: $9.00 - $12.00 hourly
Responsibilities and Duties
Children's Program (90%)
· Establish and build healthy Christ honoring relationships with children and their mothers.
· Pray with, advise and direct the efforts of children in a program and mothers relating to spiritual, personal and program needs.
· Develop and implement lesson plans and supportive activities as appropriate for a multi-age group.
· Design bulletin boards supporting weekly/monthly theme.
· Monitor, observe, interact with and teach children.
· Integrate Children's Program volunteers in the daily lessons and activities.
· Care for the physical needs of children and babies, including meals/feeding, safety, bathroom and diapering and report medical needs.
· Provide age appropriate crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed.
· Assist with tutoring needs and school projects.
· Assist children with learning to use the computers and games.
· Help with field trips and off site activities.
· Maintain files on the children; document progress, concerns, and incident reports in a timely fashion.
Other (10%)
· Participate in staff devotions and community meetings as able to do so.
· Attend all staff meetings as required and share appropriate information about the children.
· Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the room and toys.
· Assist in maintaining an inventory of needed supplies, toys and equipment.
· Attend professional training and networking opportunities as directed.
· Other duties as assigned.
